Each university has its own Halls of Residence which are usually cheaper than renting privately. It is a huge part of the student experience and the vast majority of students (about 90%) choose to stay in halls.

  • All first-year undergraduates applying before the deadline are guaranteed a place in halls.
  • There is usually a variety of price options available depending on whether they include food or are self-catering, shared or single occupancy, en suite or with a shared bathroom. The price changes accordingly, usually ranging from 350-500 pounds a month. You should also remember that the price of accommodation varies depending on the town or city; for example, London is pricier than Lancaster.
  • Apart from the added option of food, the cost of accommodation includes as standard: 24-hour security on site, medical facilities, Internet connection and all utilities, for example, heating, water, electricity etc.

We believe that when you leave home for the first time, it is important that you have a safe, warm, friendly place to stay that is close to lecture halls.
